IT'S ALL ABOUT US.............
1. Why did you decide that a scrap-room was needed in your area?
As scrapbookers, we like to scrap with others. It seemed that all of our favorite small town shops had closed. All that is left are the big box stores. Which left us three options:
- Scrap at home by ourselves - (But we can't Chat!)
- Go out of town - (With the price of Gas? And we will miss our families)
- Go to one of the BIG BOX STORES - (You feel oblicated to purchase something, it's not as much fun, you can't bring your own food, the atmosphere is not as creative, and there are other customers milling about.)
2. What benefit's will people have by renting your room?
WE CLEAN UP THE MESS! You don't have to worry about all the paper scraps, or the dishes! We are also inexpensive. Only $10.00 per person. We have convenient hours and we are close to the Twin Cities Metro Area. Plus we have the Big Blue Sony Picture Maker! You can print, enlarge, crop, anything you need to make your page perfect.
3. Where are you located?
We are located two miles from Rogers Minnesota. Our address is: 18600 124th Ave. N. Dayton, MN 55327. (please use Yahoo maps as other links will not give you correct directions) You MUST call ahead! We are open by appointment only! (Girls gotta have time to shop!)
4. It says your room is available for more than one day events. Do you offer food? Can we spend the night?
Our room is available to rent for more than one day. However, we do not provide overnight accomidations. There are many fine hotels in the area should you want to stay close by.
We want this to be a FUN place to do your scrapping! So, to keep your cost down we will have a potluck area, so you can bring your own food from home to share. We will also have our local restaurants 'To-Go' menu's available, and of course there are local Pizza places with delivery! There will always be a variety of pop, juice, and water available for sale. Coffee will be available at no charge.
As we mentioned on our home page we are a GREEN FRIENDLY SCRAP ROOM ! This means we use no paper plates or throw away items. We will provide dishes, cloth napkins and silverware for your use. We also recycle the paper scraps you leave behind! And we do the dishes!
5. A lot of people have rooms in their own homes dedicated for scrapping. Why do you think they would enjoy coming to your space?
Most of our personal scrap rooms are not large enough to host friends! And it's so much more fun to converse and bounce ideas off of other scrapbookers. It motivates you to be around others. You can get some great ideas "SCRAPLIFTIN" from others! Make new friends! Get to know your own friends better through their art, and creativity. And best of all be able to laugh at all the wonderful verbal stories of the pages they are making. When you are at home alone there is often no one to ask 'hey does this look okay?'. Our dear husbands and families are not always as helpful with suggestions and ideas as we need them to be!
6. How often will you offer classes?
We hope to be able to offer one class a month. We already know of three classes that we will offer. Window Scrapbooking, Scrabble Letter Necklaces, and Paper Bag Scrapbooks.
7. I have some great ideas... coud I or anyone else teach a class?
Yes! We will always be looking for teachers. So many artists with so many great idea's to share! If you have an idea for a class, please let us know.
8. How many people are needed to fill a class or book the room?
You will need at least 2 people to initially reserve the room. (Unless you talk to yourself quietly) Also if you have some time and decided you want to scrap, you can call or email to see if we have one or two spots still open. Additional scrappers may join until all spaces are filled.
9. Will you have materials for sale for scrapbooking in case we forget something?
In an ideal world, you will bring everything you need with you. However, since our world is less than ideal..... we will have a small convenience store available in case you forget adhesive or need card stock. We will have some embellishments and a lot of one of a kind items that will make your scrapbooking page unique.
10. What other kinds of crafts will we be able to book the room for?
The room will be available for any kind of craft that can be done in a group setting. Beading, quilting, stamping. We want it to be a wonderful environment for creating things!
11. Why are you going to have a "Shabby Chic" area in your scrapbooking room? And what is "Shabby Chic" anyway?
We were thinking we should explain that a bit! The main reason for this area is that WE LOVE TO SHOP! So why not offer them for sale and pass on our good finds to you? We are planning on always having some items for purchase while you scrap. We also hope to have some items for sale on our website eventually.
* Our room is Smoke Free and Alcohol Free.
We want you to have fun but due to liability
please keep the drinking until after 'scrappin' hours! Thanks!
